The first few weeks after your baby is born are crucial to their health and development. Doctors and nurses will offer you support, but it’s up to you to know how to feed your baby properly.
To make the process as easy as possible, here are some tips for feeding a new baby:
Breastfeed for at least Six Months
Your baby needs breast milk or formula because it provides important nutrients and contains just the right balance of high-quality protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals.
Switch Back and Forth between Breast Milk and Formula
You need to keep your supply going strong by alternating between breast milk and formula or you could end up with a low supply.
That said, if you’re breastfeeding exclusively, you can feed your baby formula once in every four hours instead of breastfeeding them every time they wake up at night.
Try Different Positions
If breastfeeding is hurting both you and your baby too much, try switching positions until one feels a little more comfortable than the others.
